Basically,

GrandAce (Jody Jones II) is an Artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. The aim throughout his art is to make the audience lock in and feel an emotional response, be it anything at all whether it’s good or bad. He was first exposed to the world of music in LA as a toddler, when his mom was a Singer/Songwriter working with Sheldon Reynolds of Earth, Wind and Fire. While listening in on sessions and car stereos blasting Outkast, Badu, Sade, he developed his hunger for music that would develop as he grew and gained access to the internet providing him the resources to tap in on his own.

After moving back to Ohio, He was active in numerous grade school and church choirs. Despite not having access to play an instrument, he made sure to focus on what he had access to which was his ear and his voice which led him to attend Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton. Determined to study physics, he held music close to his heart, but only for the purpose of entertainment until he reached a point where his road made him decide what he wanted to do for the next 70+ years.

His God-brother had introduced him to Ableton live on a hot Saturday afternoon after hours of skating and he tinkered with the software. He got his own copy and proceeded to spend the entire summer locked in his room for 16 hour days making beats, only taking breaks for food and Toonami. These habits followed him into his senior year of high school.

When it came time to choose a major, he switched gears and decided to pursue Audio and Film as he understood that going down such paths, he could be happy working every day for the rest of his life. Due to his desire to have things done to a certain caliber without having to wait on others, he largely taught himself how to be proficient in his fields of interest, leading him to produce and engineer his own music, design his branding, create promotion and curate events.

He graduated from college with a degree specializing in Film and Screenwriting, which he uses to combine vivid imagery and expressive language to craft worlds that reflect his reality.

During his time in academia he released five projects, the latest of which being, Also Codachrome(2019). Also Codachrome was his way of channeling existential doubt and imposter syndrome into its own space, providing him freedom to deal with going into the real world. It was met with much praise seeing coverage on platforms such as Hooligan Magazine, Something Different, and Audio Femme. Since the EP release, he has released numerous singles as he gears up for the next phase in the GrandAce story.

He also goes to Auntie Anne’s and Steak 'n Shake about 4 times a week.
