GrandAce Releases remix for “Sunsets” with toasty brown

Staple song from my collaborative release with super-producer Corbett, Sunsets, has received the remix treatment thanks to the work of artist and dear friend, toasty brown (stylized lowercase)! We’re calling it the “oceanside mix” and it features stunning additional guitar and vocal production thanks to the work of toasty.

Along with that I added a new verse to the track! One of my favorite things is when people take a song and remix it by adding completely new parts. I feel it just gives the listener a new experience and perspective about the song without invalidating the experience of the original.

Also I whipped up the artwork, as I’ve been having a lot of fun exploring visual art!

GrandAce’s Cincy Drifting hits the airways!

Life is a series of shocks and oh’s. Here lately that frequency has ramped up an alarming number. Calamity in government, calamity in education, the workforce, my WALLET. Everything has been getting slammed.

It would be so easy to give up. Most days I have a small tinge of wanting to, but there’s no reward in that. More importantly, there’s no freedom in that. I am a lover of a good bout of escapism, but you can only run for so long. I woke up one day and realized that I was in my late twenties. Quite the revelation for me on a random Thursday morning, some would have me believe that the fun is just about over.

But I refuse to believe it. I turned to music to work through my feelings of a fleeting world, and for me, this collection of tunes have been a reminder of the joy in the midst of the storm. The foundation of these songs were sent to me by renowned producer, Corbett, and from there I got to work. The songs came about pretty quickly but I wanted to wait til the perfect time to share with the world. The songs had a certain Summer quality to them, so here we are!

BTS: GrandAce crafting Household Betamax EP!

I made sure to take extra time to document the making of my Household Betamax EP. I don’t know why, but I had a feeling it was going to be special and it was! This video covers about 2-3 months worth of noodling around on my devices as I made fleshed out this EP.

Keeping true to my word, I kept the decision making process as natural as possible and focused on pure expression. I’m so happy with how it turned out and I hope you’re able to continue to enjoy being apart of the journey! Knowing I’m not alone on this path makes it all the more fun!

new session: making songs about 2 am

I’ve completed another one of my joys, which is putting out a youtube video (per my weekly target) In this episode, we meander minimally and get to writing songs about the whimsical sensations of 2am. I was about 30 minutes shy of having to go to work but I never waste an opportunity to dream of midnight.

I think this one grooves quite hard so I hope you enjoy it!
