2022 Recap: Virtual Memory Unit
Virtual Memory Unit EP: it’s that year wrap season, and I was thinking on what I’ve done and it slipped me that this year has actually been hella fruitful. I want to take some time and revisit milestones with you all as the year comes to a close. 🥺 this will be the first part!
Starting off the year, I dropped an EP called, Virtual Memory Unit. This project declared my escape from everything I was unable to change at the time like covid, shifting relationships, and being disgustingly broke.
At the time I was playing a lot of Dreamcast and PS2 to get some peace. While playing I observed how everything was so simple in these games/culture. There were no updates, plenty of cheat codes, online forums, a ton of variety, low prices, list goes on. I wanted to channel that in the present while working with the tools I had access to. To create a cozy space worthy of a lounge only depicted in retrofuturistic mock-ups that connect people from all walks and allow one to just exist and be.
The EP originally started as 2-songs and blossomed into something special to me and I ended up with one of my favorite projects. I’m so grateful for everyone that was able to connect with it.
